after trying to balance my account I was told they did not balance accounts, as they had computers happened on April 26th this happened at Sun City AZ 9915 W Bell Rd. I have been with this bank since 1996. I have bought eight properties and I used this bank for all transactions.

Worst Bank Ever

I normally Never write a review about anyone. However, I feel that BBVA needs to fire the whole team and start over so this company can grow. I call in concerning my account No one knows anything. The finance department is to smart to calculate simple math, everything questions you have gots to be escalate to someone higher, so they tell you to wait 48 to 72 hours for someone to call you back and that takes weeks for that to happen. After you made a payment thats over your initial amount they don't apply it to your principal.

Charged 38.00 dollars for overdraft..

I have just been with bbva for 3months. And I did'nt sign up for overdraft charges. I dont even have another account connected for that. I even have a account where you cant use atm just deposit. I spoke with customer service & they tell me that with a business Accoutnt I have a "Complimentory" over draft? Wait what? I'm at a loss. Then I have over draft charges for charges when the account is funded... Will be changing banks ASAP..

Over draft fees scam

I have had my account now with compass for less than 6 months. As a working mom of 4, I live paycheck to paycheck unfortunately.

I've noticed that as my account balance gets low, Compass likes to post charges out of the order I made them resulting in overdraft fees. Now I've hit my breaking point because Amazon charged me for something I didn't do. I called them, they immediately fixed it.

Compass charges me another overdraft fee and REFUSES to cancel it even though I forwarded the email from amazon to Compass showing it wasn't a charge I allowed. Compass needs a lawsuit against them like Bank of America for several years ago for their overdraft fees misuse!

This happened to me as well! I was trying to close my BBVA bank account.

The balance must be at $0.00 for them to do this and they leave the account open for 30 days "in case any charges come through". Sounds fishy right? So I get charged a $3 subscription fee from a company I KNOW I hadn't subscribed to in years and now my account is overdrawn so BBVA charges me $36 for an overdraft fee. The real kicker was I had NEVER been charged by this company in any of my previous statements.

My bank account was linked to the company's site, but I didn't have any active subscriptions.

BBVA thought they could just turn on a subscription without asking me and thought I wouldn't notice. They need to be investigated by the feds and shut down.

WORST EXPERIENCE WITH A BANK EVER

This bank should be under investigation by the feds. Absolutely no customer service-dumb and dumber. I had a fraudulent purchase on my account that was investigated and ruled in my favor so the purchase was supposed to be credited to my account. Those *** put the purchase back on my account and when I called about it they said it was due to a glitch in the system and would be taken care of. So what do these idiots do? they put it through as a purchase again and when I called LOL customer support they didn't know what I was talking about. So now my account is about $200.00 above what is should be so talk about fraud!! The bank itself has made fraudulent purchases on my account which is a first for me. Hope the consumer protection board can get me some help as I might as well be dealing (fill in your own words)

No payment book, no calls, no letters rec'd. I called and set up autodraft, thinking my payments were being made. One day someone just took my car. When I found my car had been repossesed, after being on hold forever, I finally discovered they had no autopay, they had the wrong address and the wrong number. I paid my car off and now I want my car back. Guess what..NO ONE CALLS BACK OR ANWERS MY CALL! One young man in customer service finally sent and escalation form to someone so we will see if this helps! Paid it off a week ago tomorrow...they still havent called or sent me a paper to release my vehicle! I am angry! They have a website with the all the big wigs but no phone numbers! I

Misuse of Credit reports

Creditors are not required to report anything to the credit bureaus. But Creditors choose to report once a month positive or negative information through Metro 2 Format Credit Reporting software where the information automatically goes on file. Credit bureaus have no control what is being reported to a consumers credit files. Accessing credit file to the credit bureaus through Metro 2 Format Credit Reporting software to report old and new negative information repeatedly more than once a month and the knowledge that it damages the consumer’s credit file is breaking the law. It is called “abusive and attacking” the consumer’s, credit files, it does affect the consumer emotionally and mentally. Because the creditors have the consumer’s personal information doesn’t mean the creditor have the power to misuse of consumer personal information and credit files whenever they dam well pleased out of retaliation. When a creditor sold the Charge off , closed account to a debt purchaser. The creditor gave up all rights to the account to report anything. The Creditor should not repeatedly report the DEROGATORY ACCOUNT every month or many times in a month that updates the whole account when the Creditor lost the account. BBVA Compass wrongfully sold the debt in 2017 to a Debt Purchaser De Ville Asset Management Ltd based in Texas who did not register their business name with the Sectary Of State Of California to conduct business in the State of California.

1BBVA Compass Bank is still reporting the account as DEROGATORY ACCOUNT by keeping the account CURRENT when they have no right to do so.

2BBVA Compass Bank is reporting the account many times on faults reported dates through Metro 2 Format Credit Reporting software that has a Reported Date pull down menu of m/d/y to choose from. Example The report day on 9/20/2018 and the reported date on file states 9/15/2018. When researching the credit files there is no such reported date that the creditor reported the account on that date 9/15/2018.

When a consumer files a dispute reinvestigation to the Credit Bureaus along with the supported documents to show proof of incorrect information and or the misuse of credit file. The credit Bureau send the dispute and supported documents through the e-oscar software program. The creditor has so much time to respond to the dispute reinvestigation that the law allows. If the dispute reinvestigation over the time it is allowed to respond then the account should had been removed from files. Many creditors and Debt purchaser will lie to make up any excuses that they have not receive any supported documents through the e-oscar software from the Credit Bureaus or did not have enough time, etc.

1BBVA COMPASS BANK went over the time that is allowed. 3/24/2018 to 5/25/2018, 3/24/2018 to 5/29/2018, 3/24/2018 to 6/2/2018, 3/24/2018 to 6/3/2018, The account should be removed according to the law.

I have been communicating BBVA Compass for several months by email and filed complaints with BBB and CFPB BBVA Compass stated that the negative account is reported correctly without denying that they still report the negative account to keep the negative account up dated after the account been sold over 9 months ago. BBVA Compass refuses to send me copies of the file of the dates that BBVA Compass reported the Negative account from January through September 2018 for all three credit reports. I would like to match there reports dates and remarks to my credit files. I did get one report 8/26/2018 Experian and that was all I got. It wasn’t what I wanted. I wanted the entire reports not just one. I do monitor all three credit reports just about every day and every credit report that I update is saved on my hard drive.

The Debt Buyer De Ville Asset Management Ltd who bought the account from BBVA Compass who was not register with the secretary of State Of California. BBVA Compass should of did their diligence on the business and the law on corporate registration of California and the difference between business license and business registration. It is not my problem. I had filed a complaint to the Secretary Of State of California and the State Attorney in August and to BBB regarding the Company business was not register sure enough De Ville Asset Management Ltd had deleted the account from my credit files on 9/13/2018 and register the business name with the Secretary Of State Of California on 8/31/2018. Debt buyer is not to resell or get a refund from BBVA Compass for the account. BBVA Compass should remove themselves from all three credit reports since the account is not collectible. BBVA Compass should not be harassing my credit files they already got there money and the debt buyer deleted the account. I do not owe anything far as I am concern and the law concern. I also filed a complaint against BBVA Compass to BBB and CFPB. After BBVA Compass responded to my complaint they had closed the account so I wouldn’t be able to defend myself. Where are my rights in all of this? This whole thing is stressing me and causing me to have anxiety attacks not a good feeling to have.

I have been paying my mortgage off for the past 13 years. I have NEVER paid past the grace period. My rate changed over the summer. I was notified of the rate change but I didn’t get a bill with the new payment. I payed the old payment amount for the month of August not knowing the new payment amount (which was a difference of about $70). They automatically sent this to the credit agencies as a delinquent payment. This dropped my credit score down 100 points. I’ve never heard of such. Obviously this was not my intention to pay late, I just didn’t know how much my new payment was. This isn’t the only issue I’ve had with BBVA. Besides them selling probably the worse mortgage loan (I was a fist time home owner and didn’t know better), I’ve been harassed for making payments WITHIN MY GRACE PERIOD. Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate reminders and updates. But to get multiple phone calls at work stating I need to pay BEFORE the grace period was a bit too much. I pay all my bills at the same time and this billing cycle is a bit off. BBVA won’t change it so they will get a few bills payed WITHIN the grace period. No excuse however to harass the customer.

All you had to do was ask ; or rather, demand a current copy stating the new payment. It is incumbent upon you to verify the correctness of all bills that you pay.

If it looks to high or too low, inquire. You knew it was set to increase but tried to slip away at the old rate.

Part of customer service since your want to put all the onus on the customer is looking into the situation and having EACH party come to an agreement based on the situation at hand. They should take the same responsibility.

As a 13 year loyal customer I would like expect this to be the process. If you are 100% blaming the customer when there were multiple layers of failure from both end, I can and will happily move my business to a bank that values their customers.

To me $70 is not worth losing a customer of 13 years. But apparently you’re ok with that.

Hidden FAX number

The only way to cancel auto-pay is by mail or FAX, --- that is ridiculous! So, I wrote my letter, downloaded a fax app and now I can't find their FAX number anywhere!! WOW BBVA Compass, I have been dealing with this for three months now, multiple phone calls each lasting 30 minutes or longer as you passed me from agent to agent. It is clear you are not at all concerned about quality customer service, but very concerned with getting your payments. Angry

Be relieved they try to collect. They just let my account go for 7 months and then picked up my car.

They admit to no payment book, a few phone calls? Not sure how many? No one got them nor voice mails! And no monthly statement rec'd....

None sent. Autodraft set up by phone they show no record of? Why didn't I check my account.

We travel a lot and I just assumed...it was being drafted..no notices?? Now that I wired the money no answering calls!

Insufficient fess of $37.00 each are excessive and are higher than many other banks, such as CHASE. They are applied ever if you are $0.01 over for any time period. That's why people are moving to CREDIT UNIONS at a alaming rate. TIME FOR BANK TO BE LESS COLD ANG GREEDY.

BBVA Compass Bank - I love them!

While I cannot dismiss anyones experience with BBVA, I can add my own experience!

I absolutely love them!!! I would refer anyone and everyone....especially new banking customers.

They are very good to me. Its been 2mo now and they are GREAT!

I absolutely love them...great customer service, great checking products and the app is freakin AWESOME!!! It is user friendly!!! You can do anything in the app- change your address, or any demographics....or add info to your profile.

You can shut your card off and on. That is really useful. Instead of getting your card shut down bc you are unsure of whether it is lost, you can shut it off and if you find the card, enable it again!!!

Now that is absolutely the excellent! You really cant beat that!
